Certified Training Providers
Part of the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) federal legislation provides funding for individuals to retrain for a new occupation. If an individual is eligible for WIA retraining money, they are awarded an Individual Training Account (ITA). ITAs can be used only at approved schools for WIA certified programs. Certified Training Providers offer training programs that are currently certified by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS).
The WIOA Approved Training Programs Search contains training programs and providers for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Local Workforce Innovation Boards (LWIB) identify programs qualified for WIOA-funded training. Programs are required to lead to high-demand occupations in Illinois.
